Deciding to Buy

looking to buy a home?

Pre-Qualification

Meet with a mortgage broker and find out how much you can afford to pay for a home. If you don’t know anyone, I would be happy to provide you with a few options.

Pre-Approval

While knowing how much you can afford is the first step, sellers will be much more receptive to potential buyers who have been pre-approved. You’ll also avoid being disappointed when going after homes that are out of your price range. With Pre-Approval, the buyer actually applies for a mortgage and receives a commitment in writing from a lender. This way, assuming the home you’re interested in is at or under the amount you are pre-qualified for, the seller knows immediately that you are a serious buyer for that property.

List of Needs

Make a list that includes items you must have (i.e., location, the number of bedrooms you need for the size of your family, a one-story house if accessibility is a factor, etc.).

Representation by a Professional

Call me, your own real estate agent. I will be working for you, the buyer, not the seller. I will take note of all your needs and wants and put together a list of properties for you to review. I will then set up private appointments for you to view each property until we find your perfect home.

Once we find your home

After your offer is accepted, we will then begin the inspection process. Where my team of trusted professionals will come out to the home and conduct a full home inspection including termites and plumbing. I will then negotiate on your behalf any and all issues the property might have.

You will also have the option of an appraiser evaluation. This is to insure sure you are not overpaying for a property.

All the above may seem overwhelming. That is why having a professional represent you and keep track of all the details for you is highly recommended. Please email me or call me directly to discuss any of these matters in further detail.

Purchasing a home is one of the most important decisions you’ll make, and the right advice and guidance is paramount. Experience and expertise matter, and they can make a significant difference in making sure that you not only find the right house, but that you also pay the best price.
